Summer Camp Brochure Outer Panels

This is the outside panel for the Summer Camp Brochure...It is still under construction because we are waiting on photos, but I do want to use a nicer quality of the photo I have for the cover.

Summer Camp Brochure Inner Panels

This is the final for the inside of the Summer Camp Brochure. Coach Pyzik loved it, so no changes were needed.

Play4Kay Banner Final 5

These are the final changes to the banners that I was asked to make...A final one has not yet been picked.

Play4Kay Banner Designs

These are some designs for the Play4Kay Banner that Coach hopes to have hung for the Play4Kay game. The bulleted ones are the banners she liked but wanted me to make small edits to, particularly because of the possibility of a campus name change.

LCWB Postcard

Here is the final for the postcard...It was a slight struggle because the only pictures we had were taken by a player's parent and he didn't have any pictures of the girls with their hands up about to break from the huddle...This was the next best one to what we were looking for...It was made into a B&W photo and a filter was added.

LCWB Mission Statement Final

Lynchburg College Women's Soccer New Logo

During my internship, I've also had the pleasure of doing some work for other people in the Athletic Office. I re-worked the Lynchburg College Women's Soccer team logo because after hearing that the school may be changing their name in the future, Coach Olsen said the logo had to be changed as well; and lastly, the team won a National Championship, so their logo needed to have a gold star added to it, which is the European tradition after winning a title.

Re-working the logo was tricky because I could not figure out the font that was used or one that was even close, it was then that I discovered there are Font Recognition tools available. It was actually surprising to me that I hadn't previously tried to figure out a font and that this was the first time I have come across this problem. The program that I stuck with and was most helpful to me during this project was a program called FontEdge-- http://fontedge.matton.se I feel confident that I will use this program many times in the future and I am happy I found it!

Hornet Award Certificate

This certificate I have been working on is not complete, but it is an idea for the Hornet Award…Couple of things I am playing around with like the stroke, the half court circle, and the free-throw circle, and whether I want this to be an exact replica of the court which would mean I then need to add the rest of the lines like the volleyball lines, coaches box, sideline design, etc.

MVP Award Certificate

I have been working on certificates for player awards she hands out at the End of the Year party…There is the MVP Award, the Hornet Award, and a Defensive Award. I've been mixing different styles that I have seen from examples online along with my own ideas. These have also been made into Word Docs for her so that she can change whatever she needs to. The one we both liked more was the one with the hoop with the basketball in color…But there are a few more details regarding it that need to be worked out. For example, I would like to make the size of the graphic a little bigger like the B&W one. Or what the title should be LCWB or 2015-2016, so really just little things.

2015-2016 LCWB Mission Statement

Here is the LCWB Team Mission Statement that will be framed and hung in the locker room. I also made it into a Word Doc, so with that formatting Coach can go in and update it every year. This was the original and her and I met Thurs before I left town and she gave me feedback on what she would like for me to go in and add. She would like me to add B&W pics of the team around the border and/or maybe a background pic of the team together.

T-Shirt #1

T-Shirt #1 would be a neon yellow color with a quote from Naismith Hall of Famer, Jerry West. The hashtag is just an idea, but if selected would be revised to include LCWB, so as not to get lost in the world of hashtags.

I decided to go with a dotted pattern for the 7.6 because it reminded me of looking up at a scoreboard and seeing the individual lights. It also looks as if it is disintegrating, which reminds you of how long, but how quickly 7.6 seconds can go by…It can be here and gone in the blink of an eye. I intend to keep the 7.6 as it is throughout all of the potential shirt designs, only changing whether or not there is a stroke around it and maybe varying the color to balance the color of the shirt it will be on.

For the back of the shirt, I am playing with a lot of different fonts and colors. On all of the shirt designs I want to keep the quote font different from the font of the hashtag because I think it makes it pop a little by not being the same font as the quote.

Preseason T-Shirt Description

Coach Pyzik wants me to work on a t-shirt that would be for the team and LCWB alumni. A little background about the shirt…

This past season the team made it to the ODAC Championship game for the first time in program history. Unfortunately we lost due to a lack of experience in such an important late game situation. LC came out of a timeout, 7.6 seconds left on the clock, and inbounds the ball...3-4 seconds were wasted on bringing the ball up the floor and in the end a good shot was never taken.

The failure to execute has haunted everyone close to the program from coaches, players, former players, and parents. LC lost this game, but it is another step in the journey to an ODAC championship. No one can forget the 7.6 seconds, and Coach Pyzik does not want anyone to forget, yet wants it to become a motivational tool.

The shirt will hopefully get printed this summer and mailed out to all returning and incoming players including walk-ons, it will also be sent to all alumni. On the front will be 7.6, the time remaining in the game. The back will be a motivational quote followed by a personalized hashtag. All quotes are being researched by me and I'm pulling hashtags from the quotes. Every time a player or an alum wears the shirt to go workout or do something to prepare for this coming year's championship run, Coach wants them to take a picture of themselves in the shirt and use the hashtag on the back of the shirt.

The hope is that this will bring us all closer together and let the players know that we still have their back and we're doing things to get ready and better ourselves, what are they doing? Essentially, it's a challenge.

Play4Kay Handout

Here is the Play4Kay handout that I have been working on.
